Gillian graduated from the University of Windsor with both a BHK, B.Ed and recently retired from her job as a secondary school guidance counselor where she empowered at-risk youth to overcome barriers to success to pursue her dream of becoming an author.

Prior to the last fifteen years in Guidance and Student Success, Gillian taught a variety of secondary school courses employed by UGDSB. In response to the complex needs of the students with whom Gillian worked and in support of the teachers whom also taught these students, she completed additional education in the areas of compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and suicide, addiction and codependency and grief and bereavement. In her coaching practice she supports and guides individual who are challenged by loss and transition.
Her book Explore, Transform, Flourish: Support and Hope for Those Who Help Others (How Professionals Keep It Together) is a practical guide which motivates, inspires and supports individuals with strategies, tools, and resources to achieve work-life balance, decreasing the potential for burnout and empowering them to create the flourishing life they deserve.
