No one asks to be a single parent, unless it is by choice and most people who become single parents are not even financially prepared. I’ve been a single parent for 17 years, as well as worked in banking for 15 + years. Just like many single parent, I was not prepared financially and had to unfortunately, learn many hard lessons. At the time, I wish there were other single parents willing to share their experience.
Therefore, when I was asked to write a financial blog by Single Parents Hub, I decided to take this opportunity to make this a 5-part blog. My aim is to give tips to any new or long time single parents, who are unsure what personal finance plan to make. It is a window into what is required during the different development stage that I have experienced in the past 17 years with my son.
